    Kyla Sexton

Kyla freestyles with house, breaks and electro DJ’s, Kyla is not an MC she is pure, soulful, magical freestyle singing.

Kyla’s love of dance music began in the late 90’s in a very loved up hands in the air kind of moment. After years of enjoying the music from the dance-floor, silently singing along, she realised that it was possible to make a career out of singing with the DJ’s and producing the tracks. She began at an all girl dj night at the infamous Hugo’s lounge in Kings Cross, after every performance she was booked for another, dj’s and crowd falling in love with Kyla’s heavenly voice.

Over the past five years she has been honing her song-writing and live performance with many talented producers and DJ’s. Freestyling in the best of Sydney’s house nights and up and down the east coast of Australia.

She is a long time resident at the monthly ‘Monkey Tennis’ parties; respected underground house night at Candy’s Apartment, Kings Cross, and at lesbian night ‘Bitch’ at Mars lounge; (LOTL winner best lesbian night). She has supported or sang with International DJ’s: Bryan Jones, The Littlemen, Roul Belmans of Swirl People, and Australian talent Yogi and Husky of Random Soul, Lamanex, John Devecchis, Anyo, Ricky Rae, Terry Vietheer, Baby J and many more.

Producers around the world are beginning to sit up and take notice of this Sydney diva, First release was a soulful song called ‘Lonely’ with New York producer Jaymz Nylon. Second release on Swedish indie label 2 Delicious: ‘Disco Dynamite’ with producers Winston and Yoddy has already garnered rave reviews from the international DJ community placing the Pretension remix at #8 on the international Release Promo charts and #2 on an American Release chart. Next release will be with UK producers Soulbasics ‘Can’t Deny’ set for release in August 2008 to coincide with Kyla’s tour.
